June 2nd : Conference ” The extraction of biomass for energy uses such as fire prevention strategy “
On Thursday 2nd June 2016, the Catalonian Biomass Cluster together with the Forest Technology Centre of Catalonia organized the seminar entitled “The extraction of biomass for energy uses such as fire prevention strategy.”
This is derived from the study conducted by a group of researchers from the CTFC, CREAF, CSIC and UAB have predicted that if extracted biomass for bioenergy to produce wood chips or wood pellets, it could significantly alter the fire regime.
The study results allow to consider this type of extraction as an efficient and economical strategy to try to reduce the fuel. This conference will explore the main findings of that study and will be part of the vision of GRAF specialized unit of the fire brigade in Catalonia.
